| Redliner From Southern New Jersey comes Redliner, a band looking to redefine melodic hard rock in the Tri-State Area. Each member of Redliner brings his unique styles to this band and a no-nonsense approach to songwriting.
Founded in the summer of 2007 by guitarist Dan Chrzan (Crystal Synn, Mikell’s Plot) and vocalist Jim Santora (77LeSabre), the duo spent months molding what would become the Redliner sound. In the winter of 2008, drummer Don Valentino and bassist Steve Tortu entered the fold and provided the backbeat for Redliner’s life soundtrack.
Redliner is melodic modern hard rock with old school imagination. Chrzan’s guitar talents are evident of his influences ranging from Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch, Alex Lifeson and Jimmy Page. Valentino’s drum styles range from the progressive rock of John Bonham and Neil Peart to the jazz style of Buddy Rich. Tortu’s bass playing is a flashback to classic rock greats like Geddy Lee, Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones and Chris Squire. Santora’s vocal influences range from hard rock greats like Don Dokken and Ian Astbury, the classic stylings of Robin Zander to the alternative rock of Michael Stipe. These influences combined with modern rock/metal influences like Life Of Agony, Puddle Of Mudd, Foo Fighters, Pantera and Incubus create a sound that is diverse and original, with lyrics (written by Chrzan and Santora) that are thought provoking, intelligent and contain subject matter ranging from Family, Addictions, Politics, Personal Issues and Relationships.
Redliner is currently out on the road grabbing more attention at every stop, performing at venues throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. The band is also going to be in the January 2009 issue of Metal Edge Magazine.
The bandhas completed work on a full length CD titled Vengeance. Recording was done by Wayne Earls of WNE Recording out of Deptford NJ. The material was mastered by Wayne Davis of The Sound Station (who has done work with Breaking Benjamin, Ill Nino, Dropping Daylight and Philadelphia’s Noosphere).
